Interim bail to Prof Arun Sarnaik cancelled

Akola, May 1 (UNI) A lower court at Washim has cancelled the interim bail granted to Prof Arun Sarnaik, accused in the adulteration of petrol and diesel scandal of 2006.

The Sessions Court Judge cancelled Prof Sarnaik's bail for refusing to cooperate with the police in the investigations into the scam detected at the Ramrao Sarnaik College of Physical Education at Washim, about 80 km from here.

On March 30 last year, police had seized the tanker loaded with naptha, adulterated petrol and diesel during a raid.

Prof Sarnaik did not give the address of his colleagues Vinod Thakur and Babul to police. Therefore, his interim bail was cancelled by the court.
