IGNOU to host Brainstorming session on capacity building tomorrow

New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is convening Brainstorming session on capacity building tomorrow to explore possibility of a systematic training intervention through conventional and distance education modes.

The session, being held in collaboration with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, will explore the effective integration of both the modes to achieve impact.

''There is a need for clear vision and strategy to plan and provide for an appropriate training intervention to meet the challenge of facilitating and expediting silent revolution by Information Communication Technology and the 73rd Constitutional Amendment,'' an IGNOU spokesperson said.

A time-bound and systematic training intervention to provide required attitudinal orientation and skills is a prerequisite for the success of the revolution, he said.

Panchayati Raj Minister Mani Shankar Aiyer is expected to inaugurate the session to be presided over by IGNOU Vice Chancellor V N Rajasekharan Pillai and IGNOU's National Centre for Innovations in Distance Education Director M Aslam besides others.
