First phase of NTPC's 2nd unit ready for commissioning
Patna, May 1 (UNI) The first unit of 500 MW capacity of the second phase of Kahalgaon Thermal Power Project of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) will be commissioned on May 6.
Union Minister of State for Water Resources Jayprakash Narayan Yadav said here today that the development would solve the power crisis in the state.
He said another phase with additional capacity of 1,000 MW is also under construction. Once completed, the NTPC would be able to cater to the electricity requirements in the eastern zone.
Mr Yadav claimed that people of the state would get respite from power cuts. Beside, it would benefit the industries, traders and farmers.
He informed that Union Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde would attend the function for commissioning of the power project.
