Fire at Hindustan Times Building in Connaught Place

New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) A fire swept through the multi-storey Hindustan Times Building in Connaught Place area of New Delhi this evening.

However, no reports of any injuries have been received as yet, said the Fire Brigade.

The fire, which began at about 1800 hrs, is of medium category, it said.

Twenty fire tenders have been pressed into service and the 'operation' was still on, the Fire department added.

Meanwhile, sources said the building has been evacuated and firemen were dousing the flames, which began from the lying junk close to the AC plant.

Three floors, including the ground floor, have been affected and smoke was seen coming from the air-conditioning ventilates.
