Patna, May 1 (UNI) Doctors belonging to the Bihar State Health Service Asociation (BSHSA) today wore black badges to protest the state government's alleged failure to meet their demands like the enhancement of retirement age from 60 to 65 years.

BSHSA President N N Sharma said the decision to go ahead with agitational programmes was taken following the failure of talks between the association delegation and state health secretary Deepak Kumar.

Mr Sharma said though the state government had agreed to accept most of their demands, the deadlock continued over implementation of pay scale on the line of the union government.

He said doctors would continue to wear the black badges till May seven before organising dharnas at all district headquarters on May 16.

Meanwhile, the health secretary has agreed that most of the demands of the doctors were ''genuine'' and would recommend them to the state government for due consideration.
