Delimitation meeting to be held on May 8
Itanagar, May 1 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Tako Dabi has said a meeting with the MLAs nominated for the purpose of delimitation would be held on May 8.
The meeting which will be attended by state chief election commissioner and national delimitation committee chairman would arrive at a decision on the proposed delimitation of constituencies in the state.
Mr Dabi, while terming individual proposals sent directly to the national delimitation chairman as 'unfortunate' said, ''People concerned should make an attempt to arrive at a consensus rather than dispatching their proposals to New Delhi.'' Mr Dabi's reaction came in the backdrop of posting of social welfare secretary Huzar Lollen as West Siang Deputy Commissioner.
The cabinet had on April 18 decided to ban home postings.
Moreover, no legislation has been effected in the matter so far, he clarified.
In another development, the cabinet had decided to overhaul the civil secretariat, legislative assembly and chief minister's bungalow, official sources said.
''Efforts are on to accommodate all the important offices and officials under a common umbrella at the civil secretariat, which would save lot of time and money to the state exchequer besides lessening problems of visitors'', Mr Dabi added.
