Delhi Police Sub-Inspector and Constable held for accepting bri
New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) The CBI has arrested a Sub-Inspector and a Constable of the Delhi Police for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 for allowing illegal construction in the Sangam Vihar area of South Delhi.
Sub-Inspector Ravinder Pandit and Constable Ashok Kumar were arrested by the CBI sleuths while accepting Rs 20,000 from a resident of Tughlakabad village for allowing him to continue with the illegal construction work on his plot in Sangam Vihar.
The Sub-Inspector, posted at Police Post 'H' Block Sangam Vihar, had demanded Rs one lakh for not stopping the construction work but later agreed to accept Rs 20,000 and asked the complainant to pay the amount to his Constable who was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe.
The duo was sent in a 14-day judicial custody today.
