Cop posted at CM's checkpost arrested in abduction case
Patna, May 1 (UNI) A police personnel, posted outside Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's official residence, was arrested last night in connection with an alleged abduction and murder of a local trader, police said today.
The arrested cop, Pawan Kumar, was not in the team of the CM's bodyguards and was being interrogated in police custody, Police Superintendent Kundan Krishnan said here today.
According to the FIR lodged at the Shashtrinagar police station, Pawan Kumar had gone with the deceased trader, Rajesh Kumar, to Bailey Road on Sunday and Rajesh was missing since then. The family members suspected that Pawan was involved in the murder and lodged an abduction case.
Later, the mutilated body of Rajesh was found at Jamal Road under Kotwali police station area, police added.
