Case filed against MP under SC, ST Atrocities Act

Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, May 1 (UNI) The district police today filed a case under SC, ST Atrocities Act against Hindupuram MP Nizamuddin and 25 others after receiving a complaint from a community in connection with the clash between two communities in Kadiri town.

Police said the Kadiri police had filed a case against the MP and 25 others for their involvement in a clash between two communities yesterday following harrassment of girls by a section of people.

Four women and several girls were seriously injured in yesterday's clash. Curfew was clamped in the localities of the two communities where the incident occurred and prohibitory orders under section 144 were also imposed in the rest of the town.
