London, May 1: Police raided 30 locations across Britain and the rest of Europe today as part of investigations into animal rights extremism.

Police in Hampshire, southern England, said in a statement that around 300 police officers and support staff from Britain and other European countries were involved in the raids.

''There is ongoing police activity at the addresses,'' the statement said. A spokeswoman declined to give any further details of where the raids were taking place, but said police were investigating ''criminal activity associated with animal rights extremism.''
