BJP predicts LS mid-term poll after UP election
Gorakhpur, May 1 (UNI) Former BJP president Venkaiah Naidu today predicted Lok Sabha mid-term election after the ongoing Uttar Pradesh assembly election is completed.
Addressing an election meeting here, Mr Naidu claimed the LS mid-term poll would depend upon the ''attitude'' of Left parties.
Reiterating the claim of winning the UP election with majority, the BJP leader asserted the party's recent victories in Punjab, Uttarakhand and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) polls were the best examples to prove its resurgence.
''The time has come when BJP will show its true power in UP.'' Lambasting the Congress-led UPA government at the centre, Mr Naidu said the party would surely face defeat.
Both Samajwadi Party and BSP are against BJP, but the party will romp home in the UP election, he added.
''BJP would definitely get the benefit of the triangular contest in the state...people want change now, which is only possible with BJP at helm,'' Mr Naidu asserted.
''Reservation on the basis of caste has been an impediment in the state's development...UP is engulfed in crime under the SP rule,'' he added.
Flaying BSP, Mr Naidu said party chief Mayawati has only changed her slogan and not her mindset, therefore, people should exercise their franchise in favour of BJP only.
