AP Govt will take action on cops in fake encounter case: Reddy

Hyderabad, May 1 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy today said action would be taken against policemen involved in the Gujarat fake enounter case.

Speaking to newspersons here, Mr Reddy said incident happened three years ago and action would taken if any police official is found to be involved in the fake encounter.

''We have to verify the records to check if any police official is involved. So far, there is no official information from the Gujarat Government on the case.'' Reffering to the investigations into the fake passport case, the minister said the special police were investigating the alleged involvement of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLA S Babu Rao who had been absconding since three days.

''Every culprit, including MPs and MLAs, will be punished once the police got authentic evidence,'' he added.

The state police were looking for Rashid, one of the main accused in the Babubhai Katara human trafficking case,' he said.
