Allahabad administration geared up for poll

Allahabad, May 1 (UNI) The district administration has made all security arrangements for the sixth phase of Uttar Pradesh poll here.

Talking to reporters here, Allahabad District Magistrate Ashish Goel said all preparations have been completed for a free and fair election.

Thirty zonal magistrates, 292 sector magistrates and 100 static magistrates have been appointed in this regard.

''A total of 341 areas are marked as sensitive and a special eye will be kept on these. A phone line has also been started to help people.'' At least one lady officer has been appointed on every boothto help women voters, Mr Goel said.

So far, 221 vehicles have been seized and more than 250 cases filed for contempt of model code of conduct.

There are a total of 176 candidates in the district and 43 have not submitted the details of their accounts, yet they are not authorised to use their vehicle during election, he informed.
