Mysore, May 1 (UNI) The Cauvery 'Raitha Hitha Rakshana Samithi', led by its president G Made Gowda, will meet in Mandya tomorrow to chalk out programmes to further intensify protests against the final verdict of the Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal (CWDT) even as the agitation entered 86th day.

In Mandya, Maligre Pura village farmers took part in the dharana at Silver Jubilee Park organised by the Samithi, which is spearheading the agitation in the Cauvery basin district.

They also detained the Mysore-Bangalore train for some time at Mandya station and blocked the Bangalore-Mysore highway, obstructing traffic for some time.

The dharna continued at Maddur, Srirangapatna and Pandavapura. In Mysore, the Cauvery 'Horata Kriya Samithi,' which had taken up a signature campaign to collect one lakh signatures from the public, almost completed the venture and the same would be sent to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh urging him to intervene in the issue and come out with a national water policy to solve the vexed inter state water disputes.
