Advani BJP's choice for PM's post after Vajpayee

New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) Ruling himself out of the Prime Ministerial race, BJP President Rajnath Singh today said only Leader of Opposition L K Advani should be BJP's 'natural choice' for Prime Ministership after Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

In an interview to be telecast tonight, Mr Singh ruled himself out of the race by stating that Mr Advani was the natural choice after Mr Vajpayee and this was the law of nature. Mr Rajnath Singh can't come in the way, he said adding "there should be no playing around with law of nature." Asked if it was not true that he had assumed the stature of a frontline leader in BJP after a string of successes in states, Mr Rajnath Singh said nobody votes for Rajnath Singh .... if they did it would be for BJP.

Answering questions about the forthcoming Presidential and Vice Presidential elections, the BJP President said results of UP elections will have its own impact and the outcome will be as per his party's expectations. The value of BJP and its allies votes would be more than that that of the Congress and its allies.

About the BJP supporting President A P J Abdul Kalam and Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat for a second term, Mr Singh told NDTV that they should wait till the UP results were out. After this the Parliamentary Board will take a decision.
