3 killed as tractor-trolley overturns in Bhandara

Nagpur, May 1 (UNI) Three persons, including a woman and a girl, of a marriage party were killed and 17 others injured, 2 of them seriously, when the tractor-trolley they were travelling in, overturned in Bhandara district in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra today.

According to the police, the tractor-trolley overturned while negotiating a sharp bend in the road near Chikla, about 55 km from Bhandara, this afternoon.

Three persons, identified as Payal Devaji Donge (10), Shantabai Sadashiv Kharwade (55), both resident of Sinegaon in the district, and Ramesh Dayaram Rokde (45), a resident of Chorpinkepar in the district, died on the spot. The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Tumsar, where the condition of two of them was stated to be serious, the police said.

The accident occurred when the occupants of the ill-fated vehicle were returning home to Sinegaon after attending a wedding, the police added.
