We will consider President's election after UP poll: Karat
Allahabad, Apr 30 (UNI) Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary Prakash Karat today said his organisation would consider the issue of President's election after the UP assembly election.
He said CPI-M does not want to elect a President of any particular party, but looking for an appropriate individual for the post.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Karat said BJP is the most corrupt party and indulged in regressive politics. Quoting Babubhai Katara, Dilip Singh Judeo, Bangaroo Laxman and Tehalka scandals, he told that anywhere there is corruption, there is BJP.
The left leader said his party is collaborating with secular forces such as Samajwadi Party in UP. ''The Uttar Pradesh election would affect national politics.'' Mr Karat also solicited support for poll candidates from Meja and Soraon constituencies Ramkripal and Rajnath Patel respectively.
He further accused the central government of wrong implementation of policies and said if the centre had heeded to the advice of CPI-M, the price hike and inflation would have been controlled.
