VSNL launches Int Wireless Broadband (Wi-Fi) Roaming service
Mumbai, Apr 30 (UNI) For the first time in the country, Tata Group's Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL) today launched a roaming wireless broadband service.
Targeted at the business traveller, the unique service will enable seamless roaming usage within the VSNL Wireless Broadband network in India wherein visitors can access high speed wireless broadband using their home country account and identity.
As part of the roll out, VSNL has partnered with StarHub, Singapore's second largest info-communication company. This will allow all StarHub customers' whether mobile, broadband or cable, to use Wireless Broadband service at over 200 Tata Indicom Wi-Fi hotspots across India. Very shortly, other global Wi-Fi operators will be added to the list of roaming partners, an official statement here said.
''This is yet another initiative from VSNL to continuously offer innovative customer solutions. Now global travelers will never feel disconnected in India,'' VSNL Vice-President (Marketing&Technology) Prateek Pashine said.
It is worth mentioning here that VSNL is the only Indian member in the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA), a global consortium of world's leading wireless operators, the statement added.
