UP under Mulayam worse than what Bihar was under Lalu: Modi
Varanasi, Apr 30 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi has accused the Mulayam Singh Yadav regime in Uttar Pradesh of transforming UP into a much worse state than what Bihar was under the 15-year rule of Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi.
Addressing an election meeting in Maidagin area here last evening, Mr Modi listed the efforts of the Nitish Kumar-led government in Bihar.
Mr Modi claimed ''during the last 17 months, there has been no kidnapping of any doctor, engineer or industrialist in Bihar.
Besides as many as 6,000 criminals have been meted out punishment through the court of law in the last nine months.'' As many as 2.5 lakh teachers have been recruited in the last 17 months in Bihar, Mr Modi claimed further.
Mr Modi said out of the five best chief ministers named by a popular news magazine, four were either from BJP or its allies, starting with Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on number one spot, followed by Narendra Modi (Gujarat), Naveen Patnaik (Orissa) and Shivraj Singh Chouhan (Madhya Pradesh).
''Therefore, elect the Kalyan Singh-led government in UP with a clear majority and all five best CMs will then belong to BJP or allies, he added.
