Two sentenced to 7 years RI for selling fake currency
New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) A local court in North 24-Parganas, West Bengal has sentenced two persons, including a woman, to seven years Rigorous Imprisonment in connection with the possession and sale of counterfeit currency notes.
Haripada Pramanik and Ms Aleya Mondal, in jail since August 16, 2005, were also fined Rs 1,000 by the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Bongaon, in West Bengal's North 24-Parganas.
Both were caught red-handed while negotiating selling of fake Indian currency worth Rs 60,000 and Rs 10,700 respectively.
A chargesheet against them was filed by the CBI team, which apprehended them, in the court of ACJM, Bongaon on November 14, 2005.
