Two nabbed with fake currency worth Rs 1.91 lakh

Surat, Apr 30 (UNI) Two youths were apprehended at Labheshwar, near here, for allegedly bringing fake currency notes worth Rs 1.91 lakh in to the city.

Acting on a tip-off, the officials laid a trap and arrested Vallabh Bariya and Aravind Rathod from the bus stand at Labheshwar on Saturday night, DCB sources said, adding that both hailed from Bhavnagar.

The DCB team seized 167 notes of Rs 1,000 denomination, 196 notes of Rs 100 and 100 notes of Rs 50 from the duo. They were bringing in the fake currency from Bhavnagar.

The entire operation was controlled from a house at village Palitana in Bhavnagar, sources added.
