Two Geelani associates granted bail

Srinagar, Apr 30 (UNI) A local court today granted bail to two close associates of breakaway Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

The Third Additional Munsiff, Srinagar, Raja Mohammad Tasleem, granted bail to breakaway Hurriyat Conference leaders Mohammad Yaseen Attaie and Meraj-ud-din Kalwal after hearing arguments from both the sides.

While advocates Arshad Andrabi and Ghulam Nabi Shaheen pleaded the bail pleas of the separatist leaders, public prosecutor Aijaz Ahmed appeared on behalf of the government.

The two Hurriyat leaders were arrested under sections 13 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities Act.
