TVS motor company opens HP plant

Chennai, Apr 30 (UNI) Leading two-wheeler producer TVS Motor Company today opened its new manufacturing facility at Nalagarh district of Himachal Pradesh at a cost of Rs 120 crore with an annual production capacity of four lakh motorcyles.

The new facility was designed to support the production of the two-wheeler, a company release said here.

With the launch of the plant, TVS Motor Company will be able reduce the transportation cost of vechiles as this facility will cater to all the states in northern and central India.

This unit will also help the company to improve their delivery time to the vast dealer network already established in these areas and help the company to increase sales.

The facility, like its existing plant at Hosur and Mysore will incorporate total flow management and just-intime methodology. Apart from talented and skilled team members, skill enhancement programmes were being reinforced to deliver top quality products for the discerning customers.

Besides this, the plant was eligible for fiscal benefits such as excise duty exemption on two wheelers and income tax on the profit accruing from this unit, the release added.
