Tarigonda Vengamamba Jayanthi celebrations begin
Tarigonda, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 30 (UNI) The two-day Tarigonda Vengamamba Jayanthi Mahothsavalu organised by TTD under Vengamamba Vangmaya Project(VVP), began here today with special poojas at Sri Laxmi Narasimha Swamy temple.
Speaking at a public meeting, organised as part of celebrations, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman B Karunakara Reddy stressed the need to take more steps to protect Hinduism.
He said the birth place of poetess Vengamamba would be adopted and developed by the TTD. It would also construct a marriage hall in the village.
Government Chief Whip N Kiran Kumar Reddy handed over the land deed for one acre and 65 cents donated by the villagers to the TTD Chairman for the construction of the marriage hall.
