Suthan appointed Flag Officer Command in Chief of ENC
Visakhapatnam, Apr 30 (UNI) Vice-Admiral Raman Prem Suthan took charge as the new Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command (ENC) from Vice Admiral A K Singh in a ceremonial parade in the naval base today.
Vice-Admiral Suthan inspected the ceremonial guard and reviewed the platoons of naval personnel drawn from various ships and establishments in the ENC.
The parade consisted of 24 platoons and was commanded by commander Yogendra Nair, commanding office of INS Vinash. During the parade the President's colour was also paraded.
Speaking on the occasion here, Mr Suthan said it was a great honour to be the commander-in-chief of ENC. The importance of ENC had been growing in the recent past and was likely to grow further with the look east policy and other developments on the east coast, he added.
He said his main aim was to keep the command fully operational to meet any tasks it was called to do. This is the admiral's third appointment as a flag officer.
