Sugar prices slightly up
Mumbai, Apr 30 (UNI) Sugar prices rose marginally today on better buying support and demand, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said.
Ex-mill small and medium grades hiked by Rs three and Rs five per quintal respectively on reduced stock supply.
Small grade remained steady on moderate demand while medium grade fell by Rs two per quintal on thin buyng support.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,335/1,375, Medium grade: Rs 1,363/1,430, Ex-mill: Small grade: Rs 1,298/1,315, Medium grade: Rs 1,345/1,360.
The sugar market will remain closed tomorrow for Maharashtra Day.
