SUCI to launch state-wide agitation from May 3
Kolkata, Apr 30 (UNI) The Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) today announced launching of agitational programme from May 3 to protest killing of a party worker at Kultali and bloody violence in Nandigram yesterday.
'' We are apprehending another mass killing in Nandigram'', SUCI state secretary Provash Ghosh told a news conference today.
He said the present state government attidute towards the people was of a double standard.
Explaing this he claimed while Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee called for an all party meeting for peace initiative, on the other hand the CPI(M) was gearing up party cadres at Khejuri for capturing Nandigram in East Midnapore.
He said that yesterday's violence in Nandigram was the reflection of CPI(M) leader Binoy Konwar's outburst on land acquisition for SEZ.
Mr Ghosh alleged that more than 151 SUCI workers were murdered by the CPI(M) cadres in the past three decades.
He said his partyworkers would put up raod blockade for half-an- hour throughout the state from 1600 on May 3 and organise protest rallies in every block from May 4 to 11. Law violation would also be organised on May 12 across the state to protest ''state sponsored terrorism'', Mr Ghosh said.
