Shimla records hottest day of season at 26.5 degrees

Shimla, Apr 30 (UNI) Shimla today recorded the hottest day at 26.5 degrees Celsius and night at 17.7 degrees Celsius Met Office said.

The maximum and minimum temperature of the state capital rose by a few notches to stand at 26.5 and 17.7 degrees respectively as against a maximum of 26.3 and minimum of 17.3 degrees recorded yesterday.

However, Una town here was the hottest place in the state with the maximum temperature there soaring to 39.8 degrees, while the day temperature at Dharamshala rose to 32.2 degrees.

Temperatures in the state continue to remain four to five degrees above normal, the met office said.

Sundernagar recorded a maximum of 36.2 degrees, followed by 34.3 degrees at Bhuntar and 24.1 degrees at Kalpa in Kinnuar district.

The Met Office said Sundernagar, Bhuntar, Kalpa and Dharamshala recorded night temperatures of 17, 13.6, 7.2 and 21.5 degrees respectively.

It also predicted mainly clear sky in the state during the next 24 hours.
