series of programmes arranged to mark 48 the Guj Foundation Day

Rajkot, Apr 30 (UNI) The Junagadh district has organised a series of programmes for two days, beginning today, to mark the 48th Foundation Day of Gujarat, in which Chief Minister Narendra Modi and his cabinet colleagues are scheduled to take part.

'Maldhari Sammelan' is scheduled to be held this afternoon at Mangrol, where Mr Modi is to address the gathering.

In the evening, the Chief Minister would attend the 'vali sammelan' (Guardian Meet) to be held at Kanya Chhatralya, Junagadh.

Besides, Mr Modi would attend the 'Maha aarti programme' scheduled to be held at Damodar Kund in Junagadh, which will be followed by dedication of Jyotigram circle and a cultural event.

Several programmes have been planned in Junagadh, which include unveiling of Rani Laxmibai's statue, inauguration of ''child care centre'' and civic centre. Many other public programmes are scheduled for tomorrow, which will be attended by Mr Modi.
