Rupee eases further, trades at 41.34/37 per dollar

Mumbai, Apr 30 (UNI) The rupee eased further today to trade at 41.34/37 against the US dollar as compared to the previous close of 41.09 on last Friday.

According to dealers, this is the lowest of the domestic unit in almost a week.

At 0915 hrs, the partially convertible rupee was at 41.34/37 per dollar, about 0.6 per cent weaker, than the previous close of 41.09 and was well off last Thursday's nine-year high of 40.60.

The rupee is still up, 7 per cent so far this year, making it Asia's strongest currency against the dollar in this year, dealers said.

There was a bulk of dollar demand from oil companies in the last few sessions, they added.
