Rapist groom arrested during marriage for raping minor

New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) A bridegroom was arrested from Sarai Rohilla area in North Delhi, a fortnight after a case was registered against him for allegedly raping a minor.

Santosh Jha, against whom a case was registered on April 16, was arrested late last night from Padam Vihar area in Sarai Rohilla following a tip-off while he was about to get married, according to sources.

The victim, a Class XII student who was his neighbour, in her complaint had said she was being assaulted for the past one month.

The accused, who works as a medical representative and had been living with his sister and brother-in-law in Indira Enclave in Sultanpuri, had been absconding ever since.
