Rahul eulogises youth power

Jaunpur, Apr 30 (UNI) Stressing on youth power, Congress' star campaigner and Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi today asserted that only they could change the face of Uttar Pradesh.

''Other states are prospering due to the hardwork of youth from UP...sadly, UP itself is slogging in the development race,'' Rahul said addressing poll meetings here in run up to the sixth phase of UP polling on May 3.

He noted the present status of UP was visible to all and the state had deflected from the path of development.

''The disgruntled local youth migrate to other states and contribute substantially to their progress. Youth move out of UP, as job opportunities are scarce here and the law and order situation is really bad. It is high time the youth power is retained in UP,'' he observed.

Rahul blamed the non-Congress governments in the last 15 years for the present sorry state of affairs in UP.

''These non-Congress governments worked against progress and divided the society on basis of caste and religion for vested interest,'' he underlined.

Rahul warned those at the helm could go to any extend to continue enjoying power, even if that means compromising their political philosophy.
