Prez to confer Nirmal Gram Award to MP

Bhopal, Apr 30 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam would confer the Nirmal Gram Award on Madhya Pradesh Public Health Engineering and Labour Minister Jagdish Deora at New Delhi on May 4 during a function where 171 village panchayat sarpanchs would also be honoured, official sources said.

Mr Deora and the sarpanchs would leave for the national capital on May 3.

This is the maximum number of panchayats to be thus selected from about 500 proposals sent from Madhya Pradesh to the Union Rural Development Ministry.
