Prez to confer Nirmal Gram Award on MP Minister Nirmal Deora

Bhopal, Apr 30 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam will confer the Nirmal Gram Award on Madhya Pradesh Public Health Engineering and Labour Minister Jagdish Deora at New Delhi on May 4.

Mr Deora will bag the award at a function where 171 village panchayat 'sarpanchs' will also be honoured, official sources said.

All the recipients will leave for the national capital on May 3.

This is the maximum number of panchayats to have been selected from about 500 proposals sent from Madhya Pradesh to the Union Rural Development Ministry.
