Nepal condemns meeting between suspended King and army chief
Kathmandu, Apr 30 (UNI) Nepal has condemned the meeting said to have taken place between King Gyanendra and Chief of Army Staff Rukmangad Katuwal.
"The meeting between the king and Army chief is deplorable," local media quoted spokesman of the Nepal government and Minister for Communications Krishna Bahadur Mahara as saying.
"The government will discuss this issue", he said. There were reports in the local media that the King had a meeting with the chief of army staff General Rukmangad Katuwal last week.
However, Nepal army refuted the news reports regarding the meeting between the king and the Army chief.
Chief of Army Staff would not meet any official without the permission of government authority, the army said in a statement.
King Gyanendra, who was forced to give up dictatorial reign last year through a massive popular uprising, has been suspended in the constitution.
