Murder in city

Guwahati, Apr 30 (UNI) A 58-year-old woman was murdered at her apartment in Rukminagar near Dispur here last night.

Police said the body of Rakhi Dutta, who is the mother-in-law of the personal assistant (PA) of the state Home Commissioner, was found dead at her residence this morning.

Pieces of glass were found studded near her ear.

Mrs Dutta' maid was reported to be missing.

Police have picked up the maid's sister, who is residence of Chayyagaon in Kamrup district.

The motive behind the murder was yet to be ascertained.

Investigation was on.
