Maoist attack in Sheohar
Sheohar, Apr 30 (UNI) At least 100 armed CPI(Maoist) activists attacked some make-shift dwelling units of some construction workers at Dubbaghat under Piprahi police station area in Sheohar district late last night, police today said.
The Maoists had torched the huts after forcing the workers to vacate their dwelling units. The machinery that they were using for the construction of a bridge were also torched during the attack, district police sources said.
District police superintendent Ajay Kumar Mishra said the Maoists had managed to escape after their operation.
They also hurled bombs as they retreated back into the neighbouring forests.
There were no casualties, Mr Mishra said.
''Extortion may have been the motive behind the attack,'' he added.
