Let CBI probe encounter killing: Jansangarsh Manch
Ahmedabad, Apr 30 (UNI) The Jansangarsh Manch today demanded that the Sohrabbuddin case be handed over to the CBI.
Manch convenor Amrish Patel here said in a release that the attempt by the Gujarat DGP to change the supervisory officer of the Sohrabbuddin case and hand it over to the Addl DG (Crime) O P Mathur on a day-to-day basis establishes that the State government has decided to directly interfere with the investigation being carried out by D G Rajnish Rai.
''The orders of the DGP violate section 156 of Cr PC, which gives full powers to the investigating officer without interfering from his superior officer. Now this would only mean that killers of Kauserbibi and Tulsiram would be roaming free and to punish the wrong doers it is fair that CBI be handed over the case,'' Mr Patel said.
