Katara sent in judicial custody till May 4
New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) Suspended BJP MP Babubhai Katara, arrested in a human trafficking case, was today produced before a city court and sent in judicial custody till May 4.
He was arrested at the Indira Gandhi International Airport while trying to take 30-year-old Paramjeet and 14-year-old Amarjeet Singh to Toronto on a diplomatic passport of his wife Sharda Ben and son Rakesh.
The investigation officer today filed detailed documents of his bank accounts, properties and other related information to the court. The police also submitted the seized passports and declared that no FIR was filed for the lost passports.
The officer also revealed that police have also sent a team to Rajasthan, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh for investigation.
The court has ordered the arrest of any person found involved in this racket. The counsel for Katara filed an application before the court to club the two FIRs registered by the police officials under same sections against Babubhai.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kamini Lau on receiving the application fixed the next date of hearing on May 4.
