TN: 'Jallikattu' leaves 2 killed, scores injured

Pudukkottai, Apr 30: Two persons were gored to death and at least a 100 others injured, few of them seriously, in the annual 'Jallikattu' (bull taming) events held at three villages in this district last evening.

Police sources said in one of the events held at Vadaseripatti village, K Pandiyan (26) was killed, while trying to rein in a bull.

Over 35 others were injured in the event.

In another event at Parambur, R Selvaraj was killed, while 50 others were injured. At Ottakkulam, about 25 people were injured, few of them seriously, in the Jallikattu organised as part of a temple festival.

The injured were admitted to Government Medical College Hospital at Thanjavur and the Government Hospital here.
