Islamabad, Apr 30: Pakistan and India will hold talks on the Sir Creek issue in the garrison town of Rawalpindi on May 17-18.

Talks will be held almost four months after the two countries began a joint survey in the Sir Creek area as part of their ongoing composite dialogue process.

''Talks on Wuller Barrage would be held on June 26 and 27 in New Delhi,'' Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam told a press briefing here today.

On the just concluded Roundtable Conference on Kashmir in New Delhi, she said it is important to note that Pakistan and India are working towards solving the Kashmir issue which is acceptable to the Kashmiri people.

She said there are a number of steps that have been taken to resolve the Kashmir issue which is acceptable to India, Pakistan, and the Kashmiris.

When asked why people are not being taken into confidence about the possible solution, she referred to President Pervez Musharraf's assurances that ''when we reach that stage the nation will be taken into confidence''.
