Shimla, Apr 30 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said his government will seek the Centre's permission for drawing water from hydel power dams, constructed in the state, for drinking and irrigation purposes.

Presiding over the third annual review meeting of the Irrigation and Public Health Department here, he said the government would seek the Centre's permission for drawing water from the dams to feed those areas that had been affected due to the construction of the projects.

Mr Singh said some of the existing schemes would be remodeled besides water would be drawn from the reservoiurs for meeting the increasing demand of drinking water.

Natural water reservoirs and sources should also be tapped to feed the schemes in the area, he said.
