Guj govt confirms Kausar Bi was killed to destroy evidence

New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) The Gujarat Government today confirmed in the Supreme Court that Kausar Bi was also killed in a bid to destroy evidence available in the killing of her husband Sohrabuddin Sheikh in the November 26, 2005 fake encounter.

The apex court, meanwhile, said it would tomorrow pass an order on the petition seeking a CBI inquiry into the death of Sohrabuddin Sheikh following the receipt of a sealed report from the Gujarat police.

Senior counsel K T S Tulsi mentioned the matter before a bench headed by Justice Tarun Chatterjee.

In its invesitagion report, the state government cofirmed that Kausar Bi was killed and her body was burnt in a bid to destroy evidence.
