Fire in cotton mill

Badwani(MP), Apr 30 (UNI) Several bales of cotton were gutted in a fire broke at a cotton mill in this district's Sendhwa town last night.

The cause of fire was still not known, police said, adding it was controlled in the wee hours today.

A loss of about Rs 40 lakh was estimated as bales of cotton kept in the open and in the godown were gutted, Manjit Fibres proprietor Rajendra Singh Rajpal said.

Fire tenders from Sendhwa, Rajpur and Anjad were deployed to bring the blaze under control, he said.

Badwani and adjoining areas are reeling under severe heat wave with day temperature hovering around 48 degree Celsius.
