New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) A day after the CPI(M) fired a salvo against the second term for President A P J Abdul Kalam, a party senior leader today made it clear that CPI(M) is not discussing the issue at all for the present.

''We will discus the issue only after the UP poll results,'' Party Floor leader in the Lok Sabha Salim Mohammad told newspersons here.

At a press conference, the CPI(M), however, was non-committal on the possibility of his party candidate for the highest constitutional office.

Replying to a specific query, Mr Mohammad, the party deputy leader in the Lok Sabha, said their ground for not supporting Dr Kalam's second term was based on the very argument of the BJP which it gave pertaining to Dr K R Narayanan's second term.

He claimed the BJP had said since Dr Rajendra Prasad, nobody was given a second term.

Mr Mohammad asked Finance Minister P Chidambaram to take note of the social justice agenda of the UPA in terms of the National Minimum Common Programme while passing the Budget.

On fresh eruption of violence in Nandigram, he claimed ''all this is politically motivated.'' He said the members of the Trinamool Congress were out to strengthen their base around Nandigram areas as there was no question of land acquisition and setting of any chemicals hub there.
