Cong has only given inflation: Mulayam
Ghazipur, Apr 30 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and ruling Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav today attacked the Congress, saying it had nothing to offer people than inflation.
Addressing an election meeting here, Mr Yadav claimed the Congress had presented nothing to UP than inflation. ''The situation is deteriorated to the point, that most people in the state cannot afford to even buy lentils,'' he said.
The CM said the poor were facing hardships due to inflation and regressive policies of the Congress-led UPA at the Centre.
Training guns on the BSP, Mr Yadav claimed the party traded in votes, while it has nothing for the welfare of unemployed, youth, farmers and businessmen.
''These people (BSP) first insulted the upper castes and are now calling Muslims as fundamentalists,'' Mr Yadav added.
Terming the BJP a cummunal party, he claimed that Muslims and he himself were on its target.
''The BJP considers Muslims as fundamentalists and if any incident occurs, it blames the community,'' he alleged.
Mr Yadav reminded that Muslims have a glorious past, which could not be ignored.
He alleged all Opposition parties had united to put him in jail, but the people poured water on these plans.
The CM assured to fulfil all promises made in the party's manifesto.
''Muslims would get government jobs on basis of their population ratio, farmers would get free irrigation and children would get free education, besides free medical facilities. People would be provided with accomodation without any discrimination under the Lohia Awas Yojna,'' he reiterated.
