Conference calls for protection against cow slaughter

Shimoga, Karnataka, Apr 30 (UNI) The nine-day World Cow Conference, which concluded at Hosanagara in this district last night, has called for enactment of a law to protect cattle breeds and stringent action against cow slaughter.

Releasing a list of 15 Resolutions passed during Conference, Conference Convenor, Swamiji Raghaveshwara Bharati, of Ramachandra Matt, the venue of the Conference, called for protection of rare breeds and good-bye to hybrid cattle.

The Conference called for ban on usage of poisonous chemicals in agriculture, ban on usage of machines which could be harmful to agri-environment, law for systematic transport of cattle on vehicles, launching of pilot project for the development of cow urine as medicine and setting up of a National Cow Protection Authority.

It was also decided to put pressure on Union government to consider the decisions taken by this Conference.

The concluding day ceremony attracted thousands of people from different parts of the country and abroad.

Addressing the gathering the seer said, ''let us establish cow nation. We are all have to live and grow for cow.'' Vande gou matharam' slogans rented the air as curtains came down on the conference.
