Chithirai Therottam festival held at Arilmigu Swamy temple
Tiruchirapally, Apr 30 (UNI) Hundreds of devotees from different parts of Tamil Nadu congregated at the historic Arilmigu Thayumana Swamy temple at the Rockfort hillock, to participate in the annual 'Chithirai Therottam' (temple car festival) being held as part of the ongoing Chithirai celebrations, here today.
The car festival comprises the ninth day ritual of the 14-day Chithirai festival.
The idols of 'Sri Thayumana Swamy', his consort Goddess 'Mattuvar Kulalammai' (Thayar), 'Lord Ganapathy' and 'Lord Murugan' were taken in separate decorated temple cars by the devotees, amidst religious fervour around the important streets.
