Castrol India Ltd sales up by 18 per cent

Mumbai, Apr 30 (UNI) Castrol India Ltd, retail automotive lubricant major, today announced an 18 per cent increase in its net sales in its first quarter ended March 31.

The net sales of the company reached to 442.1 crore with respect to the corresponding last quarter at Rs 375.7 crore.

Naveen Kshatriya, Managing Director, Castrol India Ltd, said ''Judicious pricing actions to neutralise sharp material cost increased last year and have had a salutary effect. Nevertheless, the ongoing focus on operating costs and efficient sourcing and application of base oils have contributed to good performance.'' While still maintaining a very sharp focus on its core area of lubricants, the company is widening its horizon beyond lubricants, Mr Naveen added.
