BJP's Vijender Gupta set to be Chairman of MCD Standing committee

New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) Mr Vijender Gupta of the BJP is all set to become the chairman of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi with his being the sole nomination recieved for the post.

At the same time, Mr Yogender Chandolia of the BJP is almost certain to become the Deputy Chairman of the committee as he was the only one who has filed nomination for the post.

Today was the last day for filing nominations for the post and the Municipal Secretary office received only the nomination of Mr Gupta and Mr Chandolia for the posts of Chairman and Deputy Chairman respectively of the committee.

Both Mr Gupta and Mr Chandolia filed their nominations for the respective posts on April 26.

The formal election to these posts will be held in the first meeting of the Standing Committee scheduled to be held on May 3.
